It’s that time of year again! Tax Time. Here is the breakdown of your deduction amounts. The following amounts are the amount of union dues you can deduct per pay period. Remember, political contributions (PAC and State PAC) as well as insurance payments (LTD) are NOT deductible. To figure out your deduction, take the amount below and multiply it by the number of pay periods you had a deduction. Remember, dues are deducted for only 24 pay periods, not 26, so if you had dues deducted the entire year multiply the number by 24. Since not everyone is “in” all year, it is up to YOU to figure out your specific deduction.

If you are not in a position to be contacted please let your respective 935 representative know ahead of time your desired positions in order prior to bid day. (i.e. Vacation, out of cell range).
We will be monitoring who is on calls and do our best to contact you and make sure you have your opportunity to bid. This includes members who are committed on strike teams. The STL on 6230A has indicated if they are still committed on the 12th it will be their “off day” and they have been for the most part in good cell range. Of Course this could change with the fire activity so that will be monitored.
We will be working straight down the seniority roster and not down individual specialty rosters.

Additional funding is needed to support a 3-person paramedic engine company at Station 53 in the town of #Baker. #Local935 supports this industry standard staffing model. Increasing the staffing from two to three firefighters with advanced life support capability is a vital step for the one engine company that serves a 4000 square mile area which includes the town of Baker. We recognize that even with this additional position, the northern region of our county will have extended response times beyond the NFPA recommendation which is ten minutes. Having a single engine company covering such a large area still means responses of greater than one hour to the furthest boundaries of their “first in” district. Local 935 is taking a stance that is in line with the rest of County Fire's staffing plan. #Paramedics on fire engines will save lives, and unfortunately the Interstate 15 and 40 corridors are home to some of most horrific traffic collisions in our county. We are asking the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to increase our funding in this area so that we may give the public a more efficient service by augmenting the present staffing to include paramedics on these incidents.
